Ernie’s started out in the Ceresco community in 1946, when Ernie Swanson and his wife, Margie, first opened their doors as a neighborhood IGA grocery store. Built on hard work and a passion for serving others, Ernie’s roots run deep from his early days selling newspapers and popcorn to fund his education, to the values that still guide the business today.

In 1950, Ernie’s Store evolved into home furnishings, and it’s been growing ever since. What started as a small-town grocery store is now Nebraska’s largest family-owned total home furnishings store featuring furniture, mattresses, flooring, appliances, Kinetico Water Systems and more.
