I am on my 3rd front door in just over 18 months. The white plastic door is prone to cracking on the bottom edge, and Whitlpool Maytag will do nothing to help because its a cosmetic issue. I was even told the 3nd time that I didn't have the unit installed properly, and that my range is the cause.... well, its an over the range microwave and I have it mounted 1.5 inches above the specified location distance in the manual--so it is installed properly. I always run the vent fan when cooking too (which sounds like a 787 Boeing Dreamliner taking off and moved very little air). Kind of funny, Whirlpool won't even send me the parts! I was told $435 total for a new door last week (235 for the door part, 100 for service call/diagnosis, and 100 for service fees)--I told the CSR that its cracked, nothing needs to be diagnosed. This is a ridiculous problem, after having a GE over the range micro without a single problem for 15 years. Maytag's only offering was for me to buy a brand new Microwave at a very slightly reduced cost to replace the one that keeps cracking--not much of a resolution in my opinion. I asked the CSR if she would keep buying the same brand if it needed replaced every year.... and I got no response. I switched everything I own from GE to Maytag 2 years ago, and now I am regretting it.
